Workstation
Set-Up

  1. You'll need a Zoom account. The free version is fine.

  2. Two screens work best because sometimes I share my screen with the student. It helps if they can still see me on another screen.

  3. Good lighting. I need to be able to see your student well. Lighting them from the front instead of from behind is the best.

  4. A quiet place. Set up this workstation somewhere that is quiet. Headsets don't typically work well because they are a distraction to the student.

  5. Tutoring supply basket or box. This is where all of the your tutoring manipulatives, supplies, games, workbook, and more are stored. This way, you have everything we need and no one has to get up and look for stuff. After every session and during the week practice, everything goes back in the basket.

  6. A water bottle. This may sound funny but I always encourage my students to stay hydrated during tutoring sessions. Having it ready to go prevents interruptions.

Let's get ready!
